I co-authored Standing Up After Saigon with Thuhang Tran. Thuhang’s incredible odyssey is a testimony of familial love and triumph through continued adversity. Thuhang was born in Saigon near the end of the Vietnam War and developed polio as a toddler. Her father was separated from the family for 15 years. Thuhang’s journey reveals what life was like after the communists captured South Vietnam as well as the challenges she faced immigrating to the U.S. Thuhang remained hopeful and resilient through all the hurdles she has faced. Her story inspires others to find strength through perseverance.

I am focused on everyday inclusion. As the Global Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Walmart, I created unique experiential immersion trips to teach others about different cultures. As an author, editor, and speaker, I am passionate about building a world where every person is valued and included. I believe in the transformative power of personal stories to touch the heart, which in turn change behaviors.

For over ten years, I created Monday Morning Messages about inclusion and leadership for Walmart. I was the editor of a monthly Arizona community magazine, Corte Bella Times. My articles and interviews about inclusion have been featured with Working Mother Media, Womenworking.com, Diversity Inc, Workforce Diversity Network, Diversity Best Practices, Diversity Journal, Hispanic PR Blog, and other organizations.

Recently, as Chief Human Resources Officer, I was fortunate to help a tech startup, Core Scientific, which is focused on blockchain, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence go public after 3 1/2 years.
